A Slow Week, but a LOT of Writing! [The Sunday Post]

April 9, 2017     Michelle     Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Life Updates:

I have been sick most of the week, which was really no fun. Seasonal allergies are the worst, and they’ve been particularly bad for me this year. Unfortunately, I think my daughter is fighting them too, as she’s had a runny nose these last couple of days.

But I’ve been writing like CRAZY. At the end of Day 7 of Camp NaNoWriMo, I managed to hit over 32,000 words! That’s a record pace for me, and I hope I can keep up the momentum 🙂 More importantly, I’m overall very happy with my quality, given the pace. There are definitely some kinks I need to work out in draft #3, but for a speedy rewrite, things are going really well, and my characters are really starting to stand strong on their own.

My daughter has been even more cute than usual this week, and we totally did a bit of an ad hoc spring photo shoot the other day. She has discovered that she is okay crawling through grass, so she’s been ALL OVER THE PLACE. Here, bask in the cuteness.

Goal Tracking:

Average Steps per Day: 4,193 (a bit low, but I had a couple of VERY slow sick days)

Non-Blog Writing:

This week: 21,189 words (I’ve averaged almost 5k per day in the month of April!)

Current WIP: The Demon’s Assassin (Total word count: 32,077)

Congrats on the writing going well! That’s awesome. And hope you’re feeling better! Allergies are no fun. It rained here most of last week but the upside of that was I got to d a lot of reading! Ha ha

    Have a good week!

    • Michelle

Thanks! Sorry to hear about the rain, but at least you were able to make something of it! 🙂

  • Thanks so much for linking to my Monthly TBRs post! It means so much to me! ❤

    • Michelle

Not a problem at all! 🙂

  • YOUR DAUGHTER IS SO CUTEE!! Shame about the allergies and runny nose though! I get a lot of allergies too! I’m slightly allergic to chocolate :/ Can you believe that? And I have a runny nose throughout Winter and the winters in India aren’t even that cold. It never snows..only a bit of mists and I have a runny nose 😛

AND CONGRATS ON THE WRITING! I haven’t had much time of late but hoping to get to writing a LOT in May! It’s so funny; i wrote a writing post but didn’t get any actual writing done :/ And yay for visiting new blogs! Have a great week ahead 🙂

    • Michelle

Thanks! Yeah, the runny nose and whatnot were a pain in the butt, but I think we’re clearing out now! I can’t imagine being allergic to chocolate — I’m not NUTS over chocolate but still …

  • That sucks about your allergies! 🙁
But wow, that’s an incredible amount of words to have written in a week! Congratulations! I hope Camp NaNo continues to go well for you, but I can’t see how it won’t when you’re already halfway through! Have a great week 🙂

I know, I wrote a TON in the first week! I don’t even know how I managed it! The words just flowed — yay! How is Camp NaNo treating you? You were participating this year, right?
