There are Too Many Books I Must Read this Spring! [But Here are Ten]

March 14, 2017     Michelle     Top Ten Tuesday

There are dozens of books that I’m really hoping to get around to reading this spring. But I’ve (somehow — miraculously) managed to narrow it down to my top ten picks. Some of these are new releases, and others are things I’m just plain in the mood for.

Etched in Bone — I am beyond excited that this is officially out. I have been in LOVE with this series from the start.

A Court of Wings and Ruin — After ACOMAF broke my heart with the ending, I can’t wait for this to be released in May. I might do a reread of the first two books.

Gemina — Illuminae blew my mind, and I am committed to reading this one SOON!

Trickster’s Choice — I was feeling sentimenal the other day and thought I might do a reread of Pierce. Plus, I think this book will help me get in the frame of mind I need for Camp NaNoWriMo in April 🙂

Lies of Locke Lamora — this has just been on my TBR for a while, and I think it’s time to get started!

And because I apparently am really into the black & red theme …

Viscious — After reading the Shades of Magic series, I have decided to seek out everything by Schwab. I just bought this book recently.

Wolf by Wolf — This looks like an intringuing concept, and I’m anxious to give it a try!

Scythe — Complete impulse-buy, but I’ve yet to find a book about death/reapers that I DON’T like! (and doesn’t that just scream “spring?!”)

Vassa in the Night — I’ve seen some very positive reviews of this one, and the idea sounds really interesting!

This Savage Song — Again, I’m hunting down Schwab books. I got this one on Audible a week or two ago. Do you think she/her publisher really like red???

Etched in Bone made my list as well. I almost can’t believe I haven’t started it yet. Hopefully in April. I forgot all about Vassa in the Night and have heard good things as well. I’ve not read any of these but have heard great things about a lot of them.

    • Michelle

I SWEAR I will start Etched in Bone today or tomorrow. I keep saying that though >.>

I forgot all about Vassa in the Night as well until I stumbled across it in the store. And then I was like “Oh yeah!” So I bought it. Wooo hooo!

Ooh Gemina is on my list too but I forgot to put it on my post! These all look like good picks though. 🙂

    • Michelle

THERE ARE TOO MANY THINGS TO CHOOSE FROM! I don’t know how I managed to narrow it down to just TEN!

  • Emily

I love how colour-coded this is!! AND YES I CAN’T WAIT FOR ACOWAR. As for Gemina and This Savage Song, I have read both and highly recommend them 😉

    • Michelle

HAhaha; it TOTALLY wasn’t intentional, and then I realized that half of my books were black and red, so I figured I’d put them all together, lol 😀

  • Vicious is amazing, you should read it soon! I also plan to read Scythe and Lies of Locke Lamora, but I’m sure I won’t get to it by spring so maybe later this year! 😀

    • Michelle

I’m going to start Vicious VERY soon! Just need to finish up Fair Game by Patricia Briggs, and it’s next on the list! W00t!

  • Jo Elliott

This Savage Song was on my list this week too!

I am SO looking forward to reading it! 😀

I can’t wait for ACOWAR to come out! I’m definitely going to re-read ACOMAF a couple times just to prepare! If Illuminae blew your mind Gemina is going to destroy you, somehow it gets a thousand times better! Tamora Pierce is a great author to re-read, and Wolf by Wolf is great! You definitely have a lot of great books lined up! 🙂

    • Michelle

YAY! I just don’t know where to start because they all sound SOOOOooooo good! I just started rereading ACOTAR this evening, and I’m hoping to get through both it and ACOMAF before ACOWAR comes out, even though I didn’t list those 🙂

  • So many of these are on my own list as well – why is there never enough time? I’m particularly looking forward to reading Scythe – and of course, A court of Wings and Ruin!

    • Michelle

Why oh why indeed?! It is the bookworm’s curse, methinks 😉 It’s so hard to prioritize too!

  • Ooooh DEFINITELY read Scythe- it is an all-time favorite of mine, and I have never met a Neal Shusterman book I didn’t like! Gemina was really good too! And I liked This Savage Song! I need to read ACOMAF still, I am so behind! I also want to read Vassa, Vicious, Wolf by Wolf, and I want to start The Others series since I have been hearing so much buzz about the last book being out! Hope you get to read all of these, and love them- they’re some great choices!
